Our Origins
Reno Apex Soccer Club was founded by Randy Ritter (current Club President) and Heather Johnson (current Club Vice President), launching in 2006 as International Soccer Club with just three teams.
Over the following 17 years, the club operated under two partnerships — as Players North Soccer Club (partnered with Players Soccer Club of Las Vegas) and Reno MVLA Soccer Club (partnered with MVLA SC of Mountain View Los Altos, CA). During this period, Spanish Springs Soccer Club was brought into the fold, resulting in the largest and most successful youth soccer club in Northern Nevada — 68 teams and over 1,000 players registered in Spring 2023.
In October 2023, the club relaunched as Reno APEX Soccer Club, a new identity reflecting the club's ambition to reach the apex of youth soccer development in the region.
The club is based in Reno, Nevada — 450 miles north of Las Vegas, 150 miles east of Sacramento, CA, and 36 miles from Lake Tahoe — competing across ECNL RL, NPL, NorCal Premier, and GBYSL.
Heather Johnson, Tony Ramirez and Randy Ritter — International Soccer Club. During 2011 and 2014 they took their boys team to USYS Nationals, their girls team to USYS Regionals and Nevada State Cup Finals, and Heather and Tony won Nevada Co-Coaches of the Year.

Mission & Vision
Mission: We are committed to providing a positive, safe, fun and challenging environment for young people of all levels and backgrounds to play the game of soccer.
Vision: Provide a structured, developmentally appropriate and player-centered platform that will offer the opportunity for our young people to achieve their goals both on and off the field — with the ultimate goal of succeeding in life.
Our Three Pillars
Develop the Person
We see the person first — before the player. We use the sport of soccer to teach life skills, focusing on developing the individual within the context of the team.
Develop the Club
Our members — coaches, players, and parents — work hand-in-hand to drive our vision daily, so that our club can be something the local community is proud of.
Develop the Future
Our pathway aims to leave a more complete person, providing young people with skills they can use throughout their lives — positively impacting our community as a whole.
